Crab Meat/Shark Fin Soup from Yum Cha, Chinatown

The Crab Meat Soup tastes very fragrant from the hours of simmering of stock.  On top of the bowl is a wanton skin and inside filled with ingredients such as fresh crab meat, shark fin, etc.

Pan-Fried Salted Fish Bun - 香煎咸魚包 from Yum Cha, Chinatown

The bun was not oily at all although it is pan-fried.  The combination of the salted fish paste and minced meat was well seasoned from their secret recipe.  It taste very yummy and not too salty too.   $5.00 / 3pcs

This is originate from China and was the favourite bun of China's Emperor Kang Xi of the Qing Dynasty.

Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables bun 梅菜扣肉包 from Yum Cha, Chinatown

The quality tender belly pork was seasoned for hours to their secret recipe and mix with mei cai (梅菜) and wrapped with the bun and steamed.  It blends and tastes very well, sweetness is balance and not too salty too.  Price $2.00 / 1 pce

Almond Tarts 杏仁挞 from Yum Cha, Chinatown


This almond tart has a flaky texture on the exterior and our chinese almond custard was used.  It tastes excellent and is not like the usual ones which is made from egg custard.  The almond custard is made from nan xing and bei xing (almonds).

Fish Maw with Shrimp Paste from Yum Cha, Chinatown


The well-cooked and tender fish maw was placed at the bottom layer and the top filled with very fresh shrimp paste.  It tastes very yummy especially with the fish maw, it was fragrant with their secret recipe, price at 3pcs for $4.80.

Pumpkin Yam Golden Cake - 金瓜芋丝糕 from Yum Cha, Chinatown


I love this Pumpkin Yam Golden Cake, I guess it is filled in a tray and steamed, and then fried till crispy on the exterior and soft inside, the whole piece is filled with strips of yam and one layer of golden pumpkin.  Yummy and my favourite.  $4.20 for 3 pcs.

Prawns with salted egg from Yum Cha, Chinatown

The Prawns were fried and dusted with salted yolk, it is very fragrant when bite on the shell.  I love it, the prawns are very fresh, juicy, big and display appetising.  I would recommend for prawn lovers.

Price $46 for L, $34 for M, and $23 for Regular.

Seven Flavours Tofu from Yum Cha, Chinatown.

The Seven flavours Tofu was cut into 2" x 2" (estimated) and sprinkled on the top with Yum Cha's secret recipe of 7 flavours (just a little spicy).  The tofu was very crispy on the exterior and very soft inside.
